How we started
Bladesmith Walter Sorrells is considered to be the Godfather of knifemakers on YouTube. He began his knife making journey forging Japanese swords, often making tools required for the trade. As his career evolved towards producing his Tactix Armory line of knives, his toolmaking expanded. In recent years he has begun to offer the knife making community some of the many tools he developed for himself over his nearly 30-year career.
Why Sorrells Tools?
Many knife making tools are essentially scrounged from other trades -- machining, blacksmithing, woodworking. Walter Sorrells's tools are made exclusively for the knife making trade. These are tools Walter uses every day. They're made in USA and specifically tailored for the job. Walter tests his tools in his own shop and only when he's satisfied with the performance they give him on his own work, will he offer them to you.
